Sera's Love - first 4 pages, WIP

I’ve been working on Sera’s Love every so often on the weekends (the ones where I can actually sit and not do anything for a few hours). I am having lots of fun with outlining and figure out how to place boxes, and drawing is even fun! (I hope so, or I’d get all upset and give up )

I’ve been in a super-drawy mood but it only ever hits me really hard when I’m trying to fall asleep, hehe.

So lotsa stuff’s been going on in the months since my last post. The port 80 thing got fixed, so I can surf the ‘net without running into issues

In June Jaiden turned 3, right before he did I had my 1-year anniversary at WD (the second longest amount of time I’ve stayed at a job without quitting!). I’m super proud of myself, or I would be if I didn’t love my job xD

I’ll be turning old in a month, and my brother’s turning 10 today!! wow!  I still have trouble figuring out how he got to be so old, heh. Double-digits already. Anyway!

Threeish months ago I got Shingles! WOOoooO. Not really. I thought it was poison oak for a few days, then one day before work when I was supposed to take Jaiden to his gramma’s house, I suddenly couldn’t do anything but scream and cry in pain. It was really really horrible. It attacked the nerve on my right leg, from my *coughcough*, up to my hip, and down to my knee. The part that hurt the worst was in my *coughcough* and left me literally immobile. Daniel hauled me off to the dr and he took one look and told me it was shingles (one side of the body, and the rash was a shingles rash), told me I was contagious to pregnant women and children/adults who hadn’t had either a vaccine for chicken pox (there’s a vaccine now!?) or chicken pox. I then had the fun of telling my boss I’d been contagious for the past two weeks at work and that I was near the very end of the shingles, where I was less contagious than I was the first two weeks. Goody >.< I had a dr’s note and everything, and my boss called me an hour later and told me, “You can’t come back to work until you have clearance from your dr.” AAAARGH! wth? So I had to wait and wait and wait until the stupid rash was gone/healed up (I still have scars, but once it’s been “crusted over” you aren’t contagious anymore. damn that sounds gross!), and then I emailed my dr and found out he was out FOR A WEEK! I called a nurse on duty and told her the whole story and she had another dr write me a note saying I could come back to work, picked it up and headed for work. WOOOO! I was so glad to be back at work instead of climbing the walls at home. Once the rash was all gone, I figured the weird pains in my leg/hip would go away. Evidently they didn’t, and have since gotten worse. If they continue past a year, supposedly I’ll experience it for the rest of my life. I seriously hope it stops hurting soon because I hate hate HATE taking pills and do NOT want to be taking the gabapentin the rest of my life (only been taking it two days now), or popping excedrin every couple hours. I haven’t found any other pain meds that ease the pain, and even hot or cold compresses don’t help much. Baths help a bit, but as soon as I get out of the bath it hurts again. Dr gave me vicoden but I never take it, all it does is put me to sleep. I hate being sleepy all the time >.<

We’ve been in Beta at work, since many many months ago and I can’t remember, I think May?? Heh. It’s just routine now >.< It’s gonna be really hard to go back to “normal” routine after Beta is over. We released Beta 4 last night, so on Monday I’m sure we’ll have as many tickets as I finally closed on Friday BACK in the queue, cause people make tickets over “I want 64-bit” to “It’s great!” to “It sucks.” Occasionally we get actual issues My boss had to go down to so-cal to take care of training for the Tier 2 agents, so I was by myself all week. He’s only going to be in the office three days before flying off to Tulsa though, so I’ll be alone AGAIN /sigh It’s OK, I’m taking my birthday off!

Daniel’s Sister-in-Law and Sister had their babies!! The grandkids are now up to 1 girl and 4 boys, hehe xD That seems like an unfair ratio Lena and Kirk are adorable. Lena’s got a natural beauty and grace that affect everyone. She’s beautiful, and you can see she will be a beautiful young woman when she grows up. Kirk’s a grumpy-looking guy, and he seems to smile whenever someone gets in trouble, heh Sounds like my kinda kid! His dad posted a picture of the three boys when they were all the same age, newborn, and I have trouble telling them apart. Once I looked for a few minutes I could KINDA tell Jango from the other two, though. Kinda. hehe Lena’s mama and papa had their one-year anniversary a few days ago, which reminded me how fast time goes by. Sigh! (happy anniversary btw rissa!)

Jaiden’s been potty-training, he’s doing really well and only has to learn to go #2 in the TOILET, not his undies or the floor >.< Once he got it down to a routine it was easy for him. We went to visit his godparents a few weekends ago, driving over to Reno with Jaiden, Daniel, and Papa. We stayed for two nights and drove back home to get Papa to work not on time (he was 15 minutes late). It was fun, and Jaiden got to see his nina and nino and remember them (it’d been over a year so he couldn’t remember them), and his junior nina too!!

So tomorrow we’ll be going to my mom’s for Peter’s birthday. Peter and Jaiden would’ve been twins had they been born in the same year, spiritually that is. Physically Jaiden’s almost as big as Peter, is darker and bigger in general. Peter has mom’s frame, while Jaiden and I have Dad’s frame. Dad’s birthday is coming up soon. I still miss him >.< It’s apparently one of those things that won’t ever go away :/

In any case! Guess I save up all the news for one big post huh? xD

Oh, I bought my wedding dress! When I get married all you folks get to see it

After debating for a week or so, and trying to figure out what would make a good comic, I realized I’d written a bunch of story beginnings that never really got completed. I’ve still got those ideas running around in my head, mind you, I just never sat down and let the words pour out.

I’m hoping I’ll be more reliable if it involves drawing, particularly if people like them and want more (an audience always makes a performer/artist feel motivated to do more!)
