when I was a kid, I LOVED to cook, bake, concoct — I was always in front of the stove or a mixing bowl, always making something new and interesting. One of the things that was prominent in every memory is an awesome betty crocker cook book. I haven’t been able to locate one like that (it was a picture step-by-step cook book), but since I know all the terminology, a regular betty crocker cook book has been serving me well the past few weeks. It’s been well over 10 years since I’ve picked up a measuring cup with the intent to put flour and sugar in a bowl. I’ve been finding my passion for cooking the past few weeks (in my boredom), and since this particular kitchen has no currently reigning queen, I’ve stolen the position. I’ve been experimenting with various recipes and enjoying the outcomes (both in slightly hard biscuits that still taste really good and in yummy cookies that ended up slightly chewier), and most RECENTLY, as in RIGHT NOW, yummy yummy chocolate chip cookies. I’m cutting up snickers minis and sticking them on top too, for yummy caramelly nutty goodness. I really do miss the whole process. Even without proper mixing equipment, I’m still having fun getting my arms all sore from something OTHER than extracurricular activities and it’s awesomeness

set the calendar for Jaiden’s 2nd birthday party! The park behind Daniel’s work in San Ramon will be the location for Jaiden’s 2nd birthday. The date has been moved to Sunday due to a scheduling conflict with his future cousin’s 1st birthday party, so wish Jango a happy first birthday!! My apologies for the switch, evidently with two birthdays so close to each other, communication is necessary when determining birthday party dates
We will be having the party at the park listed in the “Where”, we should be there before 1 if you want to show up early (so we can set up the table, etc)

so father’s day is around the corner, I’ll get Jaiden on Thursday instead of Friday to compensate for Jason having him on Sunday instead of Monday. The Monday after father’s day (which is Sunday ) I will -hopefully- be starting my new job! This means one more week of boredom (or massive bouts of drawing, or leveling my chars on angels online which is possibly one of the easiest games I’ve ever played, made even easier by the new implementation of a built in bot they named “angel baby”!! unbelievable. it’s one reason to stay away from free mmorpgs )

plus it’s tech support, which has always been my favorite position. I love helping people. My dad always griped and moaned about everybody asking him to fix their computers, but honestly, I think he enjoyed it as much as I do. Fixing things is in the blood
my brother’s about to turn 9, ain’t that a kick. My son’s birthday is immediately followed by Daniel’s youngest nephew’s birthday, he’ll be 1 year old on the 24th while Jaiden will be 2 on the 22nd of June. I seriously can’t wait. Jaiden had a blast at his birthday last year. He’s getting two this year (I think…??), so he should have even MORE fun
Since I’ve never had any problem getting him as many toys as he could hold in his hands, it’ll be a practice in restraint when we go to Target to get him a stroller/high chair (he has them at his dad’s, but we’ve been making do here and it’s getting pretty annoying). He’s probably too old for a stroller, but frankly, I’m getting sick of him refusing to budge when it’s time to go to a different store or when we’re taking a walk and he suddenly gets tired and won’t move. My arms can only hold a 30 pound child for so long particularly one that wiggles as much as he does.
