on a side note, I just sent an email to the second in command over at work
this here’s a copy of the email:

Chris,

  I apologize for not speaking with you before leaving today. Today isa date of significance to me and is very difficult for me to getthrough, I should not have gone in to work at all. Unfortunately Ididn’t realize the extent of the problems I would have functioning.
It isn’t something I want to get in to (I explained it to Anton, if youreally want to know he can tell you. It’s personal life stuff, and youdo not need to know, except perhaps that it affected my work) .
Being in no condition to work, I only closed a few tickets thismorning, and as a result Anton had to close a few extra tickets.
We were speaking on the phone after I got back from lunch (I took anextended lunch, which I’d told Anton I would do, was eating lunch witha friend who helps me cope with this situation every year), and hebasically insinuated that I hadn’t done anything this morning and wouldhave been able to close the tickets we acquired in the interim withoutdilemma. The ticket in question is for the Teletrak software, one thatwas opened a few weeks ago. He asked me to take care of it after lunch,and I agreed to this. During lunch, a ticket for the Campbell storecame in, register 2 is down (and they have 2 registers). There were twoother tickets, one other being priority 1, and since they were inregards to stores I felt I should take care of them before heading overto plant b for the Teletrak software.
I did leave a message on Anton’s phone explaining the ticket (Campbellstore needs its printer mechanism replaced on register 2, and I wasgoing to replace it until we discovered we don’t have any morepanasonic registers upstairs. The one up there doesn’t have its printermechanism because Dave Baker took it out), I guess he didn’t get themessage because when he called he was upset that I hadn’t immediatelygone over to Plant B to install the Teletrak software. Since I’d beencontacting Dave Baker and the Campbell store to figure out how to fixregister 2, I thought I had a good reason.
This isn’t a dispute over which tickets have priority, or anything likethat.
I left in a huff, very hurt and upset over the words Anton spoke.Everything issued to me is on Anton’s desk (Phones, Badge, Keys)
I very much want to work for Goodwill. I love the job, I love thepeople.
Today is not a good day for me to make decisions.
I am not sure what Anton will tell you, since I didn’t tell himanything (and he wasn’t in the office when I left)
I did hang up on him after he got quietly upset with me.

So far I haven’t gotten a response (but it’s only been about 10 minutes, and second in commands generally have lots of meetings to attend)

Our boss was recently let go (he wasn’t going to stay anyway, but he was supposed to be replaced.)
They decided not to replace the old boss, and left the IT department as just Anton and Me, with Chris (the second in command at goodwill) sort-of taking over Peter’s position. I say sort-of, because Peter had a much larger hand in everything.

I don’t think I could’ve lasted there anyway
way too much beauracracy, people being more important than other people.
That’s like saying the spokes on a tire on a bike are too small to be important
