DDR Log (hahaha!)

so no ddr tonight!
it seems my pad is acting up!
I’d like to work on stuff other than my legs anyway. my calves are like rocks now, and the rest of me is still all jelly-filled-donuts :P
so I did step-aerobics and crunches and wall-ups (I did 15 knee-ups :P that was TORTURE — shows how heavy I am >.< )
anyway!
only a bazillion more pounds to go :D

also, it looks like Jaiden is teething =o.O=
I tried to get pictures, but his mouth is so small and the lens is so big, I'm afraid all I got is lips and tongue and a blurry gum-ridge :P we had to get him to scream in order for the gums to show, but then he'd giggle right after, so that was remarkably cute :D
the little tyke is hungry now so off I go to feed him
later!

DDR Log & news

so it turns out that while stepping on arrows in ddr, I was also stepping on other buttons (triangle, circle, etc) and it was giving me more steps than I was really getting. this of course upped my calories-burned by 20% or so. who knows :P anyway! I did 27 songs today, instead of the usual 25, but I did the first half before 12 and the last half after 12 so the workout results were for the last half of the songs I did. bleh :P I did some quick dividing/multiplying and came up with a rough estimate of what I did this workout session. you’ll notice it’s much lower than my previous logs:

Miles Jogged: 5.17
Jump Rope: 2861 times
Miles Swum: 2.292

oh right! I remedied the problem of stepping on the buttons by loading a save that disabled those buttons during dance mode. I’m glad it’s reporting the actual calories now :P even though it’s not entirely accurate, it’s giving me a good estimate and it makes me feel accomplished so that I’ll continue DDRing and losing weight =^.^=
BTW — you’ll notice (on my LJ user info page) that I have suddenly dropped 10 pounds!! This is not the case. I was simply waiting til I lost 10 more pounds to update the code. It’s rather tedious and consumes a couple minutes of my life, so I’d rather do it all at once (just the way I wanna lose the weight!!)

My little brother’s birthday is August 29th, and we’ve got some friends/family to chip in on a Gamecube for him, as well as games and controllers and stuff. Evidently his playstation 2 is entirely wireless right now, including the power source, thanks to a handy dandy pair of scissors my bro found. maybe we can sneak him a new ps2 power cord while we’re at it :D he’s already got a wireless controller replacement (since he cut that too) from christmas last year, but I guess he hasn’t been able to enjoy it what with his power cord not getting power. I’m not sure, but it sounds like he made all the cords/wires wireless, so I’ll have to check that out. maybe another christmas present. He’ll be 7 years old, so hopefully he’ll have the sense not to do that again.

For my mom’s birthday (the day before mine on september 25th) we wanted to get her an easel. it sounds like she also wants to take a class at H&R block so she can do taxes for people (she’s excellent with numbers) and hopefully make some extra money. That’ll be good for her, and while it’ll enable her to buy herself some clothes and stuff, she’ll no doubt spend it on Peter. She rarely buys things for herself. She got some new clothes for mother’s day, and they look absolutely cute on her, but she would never have bought them for herself.

Jason’s birthday is September 2nd, so. He wants dvds and cds. that’s it. he’ll tell you “BOXSETS!” and that’s about the best gift you can give him :P He’d probably enjoy either a best-buy gift certificate or a fry’s gift certificate.

just noting those things to myself, and if anybody knows any of those people and wants to get them something, there’re some ideas. The easel thing though, we really wanted to get it for my mom, but possibly things that go with an easel like paints and paper and stuff?

Jaiden’s been wide-awake all day, not sure why. He finally fell asleep I’d say around 12:30am :P maybe he can only sleep if I DDR first?

since I’m in hyper-mode from my blood pumping, my thoughts are jumping more than usual, so my apologies if you get a headache trying to follow any thought-trains in this entry.

my legs feel much much firmer, and my butt’s finally rounding out to the way it was before. woot :P evidently DDRing also works your arms, from keeping your balance and stuff, so my arms are always a touch sore after playing. my collar-bone is also starting to pop out again. my neck is as skinny as ever, however :P and my cheeks are still chubby ;) I’m pretty sure they’re just chubby no matter how little/much I weigh. It’s the chin area that truly tells you how much I am.

Jaiden’s getting a lot bigger really fast. it’s really weird.
We’ve got DVDs of him, three movies on it and 10 minutes of pictures set to two different songs (one after the other), Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Want To Miss a Thing” and then Mariah Carey’s “Always Be My Baby” (the first one’s sentimental as hell, the second one is punny :P )

in OTHER news, I’ve set up something at dmusic.com for my mom’s piano-playing and my singing (believe me, mom’s music is 1million times better than my singing, so don’t judge her by my vocals :P it’s possibly even infinity times better XD I don’t think my voice is -too- bad, as I can sing on-key, but it certainly isn’t professional the way mom’s piano playing is)

Jaiden's butt-wiggle

while his butt-wiggle was mother-induced, Jaiden laughed and enjoyed the butt wiggling extensively XD
I grabbed his butt from one thigh to the other, then wiggles with some wrist-action to the beat of the music on AZN. He started laughing up at me, causing me to laugh so hard I cried XD
then his grin got -really- wide, and his dad came over and started laughing too.
butt-wiggling is funny :P

DDR Log & stupid scheduling at the doctor

so evidently when I asked for a friday appointment, that meant a monday appointment. I was supposed to go in this coming monday, not today. I rescheduled the appointment for the 4th. :P we’ll see what the stitches left behind then, I guess. I wonder if there’s scarring? sheesh, inappropriate convo sorry :P

I’ve got ddr set to max stage 5 and event mode on, so I don’t have to edit my preferences (reversed arrows, 1.5 speed with boost) every time I finish a round. At the end of each round, it tells me how many calories I burned for all 5 songs total. I’ve been getting in the 100s for each round, and I do 5 rounds of 5, so with 100+ on each round I’m getting more calories burned. woot! in order to do that effectively though I have to pick songs that are not only hard, but not hard to the point that I give up half-way :P
so far I’ve picked these songs, and next to the name is the average burned for that song on standard mode

La Senorita – 30 calories
There You’ll Be – 28 Calories
Paranoia (Dirty Mix) – 39 calories
B4U – 26 calories

I’m still looking for more songs. Kick the Can does about 30 calories, but I don’t really like the song or the steps. Wild Rush on heavy does about 22 or so, probably 25 if you don’t miss lots of steps :P 321 stars also does about 25 calories, but I don’t particularly enjoy that song either. Tsugaru is a definite fave, almost 30 calories, but every time I play that song the baby wakes up :P

going to the doctor tomorrow morning, and I went to a party earlier. I also want to see what my doctor has to say about my after-birth shape and such, make sure I’m okay with the workout I’ve been putting myself through.

woooot!! I started back at work today :D everybody missed me and I got lots of hugs and welcome-backs and stuff. most people had to look at me twice to make sure it was me cause there used to be twice as much of me XD

poor brendano got all sicky (over the weekend I guess) and went home almost as soon as he got there cause he was gonna throw up :( poor brendano! HOPE YOU GET BETTER! and erlynn too, since she got sick :(

I also did “Mission Mode”, but it didn’t log the calories burnt for that, so I essentially wasted about twenty minutes which is why my “Calories Burned” is so low as compared to yesterday’s. boohoo :P It’s only been three days so far that I’ve been doing this, but I already feel a huge difference in my muscles (which were always easy for my body to make, but I was feeling especially weak after having the baby and my hips being all spaced apart and weird). I can jump up more easily now WOOHOO, and my back muscles are coming back finally. I could really use encouragement to keep this up, too, because that’s how I am about excercise :P if nobody notices a difference, I give up hehe XD Jason’s no help, he can’t even tell that Jaiden got bigger. Speaking of Jaiden!! *points down there*

the one “mountdaddy” was taken today shortly before I started excercising. the one called “Godmommy” is 16 minutes long, but the others are 3 minutes and 6 minutes, or thereabouts. “godmommy” is funny XD she evidently didn’t know she was being recorded, and we got her whole phone conversation on video XD
