points-of-view change so much when it’s you in the driver’s seat
when it’s your life that’s going to be changed forever
it’s so easy to make a decision about something, and believe in it with all of your heart, especially when it comes to judging other people.
when it’s your life in question, you finally realize that life is not just black and white. life is not even just shades of gray. life is all manner of color, people, beliefs, systems –
but when it comes down to the nitty-gritty, when you’re the one in the driver’s seat, and you’re the one who has to make the decision that will change everything –
that’s when you can see from other people’s points of view. other people who you made fun of maybe, or judged as a bad person for his or her decisions.
and that’s when you realize there -is- no wrong choice.
so long as you’re a good person, and mean nobody any harm, there is no wrong choice.
you’re given decisions, multiple-choice-questions, and you can rest easy in the knowledge that whatever choice you make, it is the correct one.
and thus, the phrase “walk a mile in their shoes” is a given.
I’ve lost friends because they felt my decisions were the wrong ones.
I say, join the rest of them then, for those who judge shall be held up to their own standards and shall fall short.
judge not lest ye be judged.
and so, I end this journal entry with some randomness (like the rest of it wasn’t random, right?)
it may not be the decision you would make, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t the right one for someone else.
any judging you pass, pass on your self, not on others.
every person is the most perfect -them- there is.
I am the most perfect Laura/lorikitty there is.
you are the most perfect -you- there is.
so be happy with who you are, accept that all the decisions you’ve made are the best, and above all, love yourself.
there is no wrong choice
